The above comment is the single most important factor. Accurate colour rendition. I'd go with his view...
Shooting with LUT preview On - I hear two schools of thought on this matter. Being able to preview the final look on set is great. And the washed out LOG image is never great to look at or read in bright conditions. But its more accurate to look at that washed out image together with histogram. For example when I use some LUTs they show the sky as blown out but with LUT preview off you see its not blown out. For me I found its better to start with the flat LOG image and toggle the LUT on/ off to check after.
You can't use full 5 axis IBIS without native glass.
For canon glass, my go to's are:
Canon 35mm F1.4 L
Canon 100mm Macro F2.8. L
Canon 70-200mm F2.8. L
Sony 16-35mm F4 FF (for use on gimbal which benefits a lot from IBIS)
Note that all lenses have 2 effective focal lengths when using APSC mode. E.g. 35mm = 55mm on APSC or 4K. But you can't APSC in 4K!!!
you cannot add filters to this lens!
so f1.4 in daytime on slog is gonna be 100% impossible to shoot video without an ND filter. and with a7sii minimum iso of 1600 on slog, i would have thought it essential to point this out in the above review using that camera.... yes you can add a filter holder or an adaptor like fotodoix ND throttle, but thats another thing. big shame! was close to buying...
Totally agree. A6300 = same specs, better 24mb photos, smaller and 1/3rd of price. WTF!
Only thing is that a7sii is the king of low light + full frame
The final result:
