Recovering web designer learning the joys of filmmaking.
What are the odds?! I uploaded a video just 10hours before him where I attempt to convert an actual Super8 Camera to Digital. https://youtu.be/mnjIltWK38U His Video is probably a bit better than mine though :-D
It's easier than you think to build something.
I made a setup for this with a bike helmet (in hindsight a skate style helmet would be better), a magic arm, a rod clamp, curved 15mm rod, some cable ties and a counterweight.
I had most of the parts just lying around but you could buy everything for about $50.
Camera-wise, if you use a mirrorless camera like Sony A6300 you can look through the EVF for framing.
I used the Sony 16mm f2.8 pancake lens with it. Was wide enough with looking distorted like a gopro setup would.
Was wondering this myself, that's very disappointing. I have an A7s and a A6300 and the difference in 1080p between the two is shocking. The A6300 is very mushy. You do however get away with it if the final platform is web/social media.
I'm transitioning from working in graphic design and web development. I'd like 2017 to be the year that more than 50% of my work is filmmaking related.
This is a great idea although all the Groups are for photography. I've set up a Facebook group for a cinematography based version if anyone is interested. https://www.facebook.com/groups/362663904097896/
It's New Year's Eve, will figure out the details later.
