Over the past two weeks I've spend less time working and given myself more free time, and it not only feels healthier, I'm and also more productive when I work. Definitely a marathon as you said Liz!
Thanks for your reply
That's a really good idea. Can't find any where I live so I'm gonna start one myself. Thanks for the advice
Thanks for the encouragement! :)
Make a film. A simple one that you can make rather quickly so you can learn fast. Make a new one. Then one more. And after that one.. you make another.
In between that you watch all the films you can get your hands on (but do make sure the majority are from really good filmmakers like Tarkovsky, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Scorsese, Fellini etc -you can easily find lists with the most popular and in many cases greatest filmmakers-). Read about filmmaking. There are lots of books about all aspects of filmmaking.
Be patient; it takes time to learn and it takes a lot of time to make a film.
Get lots of life experience that you can draw inspiration from.
And have fun with it! Filmmaking is fucking awesome. Best of luck, mate!
I've been looking for films that doesn't follow the structure. could you give an example?
He put the actress on a board which is connected to a crane that can rotate 360 degrees. The board and crane is hid by the white dress. I think he uses the same technique in The Sacrifice.
Good to see another Tarkovsky enthusiast here on nfs
