I'll reserve real judgement for a trailer if this actually gets off the ground.
but honestly this seems like a bad idea the way they are approaching it. If QT wants to do his own thing with the movie and this is essentially a reboot, why keep the cast? They are tied to the universe Abrams was building. If you are scrapping most of that then cast people you want to play the characters.
This whole thing just strikes me as odd.
It's a valid complaint in my eyes.
Sigma hasn't announced a price yet.
A lot of that stacking on the timeline could be adjustment layers, VFX, graphic files. Without seeing the video for that timeline it's hard to tell exactly. You're making a lot of assumptions based off an image with no context.
Pro-editors use 8+ video tracks all the time: https://jonnyelwyn.co.uk/film-and-video-editing/inside-professional-edit...
I do agree a base cut is helpful. Also making a new timeline for each revision of an edit is smart so that if you need to reference or revert back to an older cut you can do so easily.
It's incredibly easy in every program. The goal of these presets is to save you a few seconds basically. Although the seconds lost reading this article, watching the video, commenting about it, downloading the presets, and installing them, kinda negates a lot of the time savings.
Yeah the value for Money is the biggest thing to me. You are NOT getting the same value if you go with any vendor's pre-built machine. Apple is typically the worst though in the markup margins.
