I've been looking for an affordable wireless, bluetooth-based Timecode generator. What do you recommend?
Thank you for this perspective! It's so inspiring to see people achieve these kinds of projects on a budget that us indie shooters can actually scrape together, and there's a lot of good lessons learned in here as well. If you ever write that book, I'd buy it.
Very interesting product, but at up to $500/day I think a lot of people who want flexible/portable live streaming might find some savings by picking up the (also eye-wateringly expensive) Sony Xperia PRO.
I'd suggest these are explicitly targeted at photographers, not filmmakers. While the declickable aperture is great, it seems these designs prioritized the compact size demanded by street photographers. In addition, there's quite a bit of focus breathing, which I know a lot of filmmakers hate.
Cool website! Where's the plug-in, how do I download it, and how does it present the data in real-time?
Quick clarification: it's the VMC-BNCM1, and so far it's only available through Sony's replacements parts vendor: https://sony.encompass.com/item/13016413/Sony/A-5051-506-A/
