Art and creativity cannot have a gender, but in the entertainment industry of India, there were many jobs just reserved for men. the cinematography was one of them. They justified keeping it Men Only professions with excuses like its a tough job, working hours are odd, working in the night and odd shifts are normal, cameras are heavy, a cameraman has to travel to oddest locations to find a perfect shot, light men are mostly men they won't heed to a woman boss, working conditions are too tough for a woman. Sunita Radia started her journey in the year 2000. she came from the ultra-conservative land of Jharkhand, and she landed in Mumbai with a dream to be a cinematographer in this very glamorous Mumbai Film industry. she didn't have a film school background nor a relative who can help her with the contacts. it was an uphill task but she managed to get an internship on the sets of 'Devdas'. as the luck would have it she was surrounded by legends in her very first movie, she was assisting legendary cinematographer 'Binod Pradhan', watching the master director 'Sanjay Leela Bhansali' create a masterpiece. its said right foundation is the guarantee for a strong building. Devdas was the perfect foundation which made her ready for big canvas and bigger challenges.
