Thales Banzai is a film, advertising and music videos director. Self taught, he spent most of his life in Curitiba and lives in Sao Paulo. His first short films were shot on VHS when he was just 09 years old, along with two other friends that later, in 2006, would form Banzai Studio, a videos and arts collective. Since then, they accumulated more than 150 videos in their portfolio between advertising productions, music videos, documentaries and short promos. Alone, he directed over 10 short fiction films, of which 03 were selected for festivals like Rio de Janeiro International "Short Film Festival", "Curta 8" of Curitiba and "Arte.mov" in Belo Horizonte. Due to the recognition of Banzai Studio's repertoire, in 2011 the group became represented by the production company "Paranoid Br", owned by the filmmaker Heitor Dhalia. There they work with big advertising films and have the support of the company to accomplish personal projects. In 2012, Thales dedicated his time to create fiction scripts and spent 03 months in Angola directing for a local production company. In 2013, the year started on the right foot, finishing his short film Casal (2014), which he considers to be his first official short film.
