Article Comment – The True Cost of the Filmmaking Life (Are You Ready to Pay It?)

I'm not Simon Cade's biggest fan, but this episode gave me immense respect for him. I don't know if it was just me but his maturity about his film lessons placed him about 20-21 years in my mind. A bit older than me.

Then this successful figure with a popular Youtube channel and a lot more knowledge about film than I have tells me he's 17. Shocker.

Like, what the hell have I been doing with my life?

Boards Comment – Someone point me to relatively new guide to build hackintosh/ post-pro workstation?

I forgot to mention I'll hopefully be using Adobe CC, or maybe some CS version if I can't afford the subscription. Then probably the free version of DaVinci. My brother uses Blender for vfx. I'll basically be upgrading my programs as I can afford to, so I want my processing and memory to be as large as I can get and be able to afford, and not have to upgrade anything when I upgrade my softwares.

I was definitely planning on going with windows, thank you. It's all I've ever used. I've been on a Mac once or twice but not long enough to get to know it.

When I said hackintosh, I meant it in a general way. I don't plan on going Mac.

Boards Comment – Finding Legitimate DP Work

Great reel man. Makes me realize why someone like me, as a director, would need someone focused on the image. When I get on to bigger projects and can start paying people I'll definitely hit you up.

I do have infinity focus, the image is just cropped.

Boards Comment – More help needed: D mount lens for 8mm cam adapt to M4/3

Yeah I think I'll order me one of those adapters and see what happens. Thanks again! I'll give you a shout out in one of my movies for all your help figuring out my camera.
