Yeah, it used to be (many, many years ago) that marketing amounted to about 10% of costs. Now, total costs on, say, a $200 million blockbuster could approach half a billion (as it did with "Avatar" some years ago).
I always win at micturating contests -- you could say I'm a whiz.
Yeah, but how can Canon take credit for that? They're not doing the creating.
I hope Apertus moves away from the CMV12000 as soon another, better-specced s35 sensor is available. I have faith that Magic Lantern and Apertus will wring as much performance as possible out of the sensor, but mediocre dynamic range, relatively poor low-light sensitivity, and substantial fixed-pattern noise make it a suboptimal choice. Unfortunately, there's a paucity of off-the-shelf s35 sensors, and none of them appears very good.
Does the Hero 4 Black have a 24-fps DCI 4K option? I know the 3 could do it at 12 fps, and I assume that if it's still there, it's been doubled on the 4. I can't seem to find the answer on the GoPro site.
One of the early rumors mentioned electronic IS. It's a feature of the Ambarella A9, on which the Hero 4 is rumored to be based, as are 240 fps at 720p, multiexposure HDR, and WDR tone-mapping. Whether any of these are implemented is another matter.
