Been at it since the early 90's with VHS mega cams. Love shooting and editing video. Short films, documentary, or music videos. I love telling stories.
I own the Nebula 4000, it's a pain to set up but now that I've done it once, it's already balanced for my A7S II and I only shoot with wide lenses, so it's hard at first but once it's done, it's ready to go. I am loving the results I've been getting out of it. It's built well. As far as the other types, DJI has a new one out that seems very user friendly.
Love it man, beautiful shots and love the gimbal work. Makes car rides look so much better.
The film business is real cut throat. I'm learning this more and more going through a festival circuit. Independent film has to stand out over millions of others to even get a small beacon of light for distribution. It's really all about who you know. You could be the next Martin Scorsese and never even have your film see the light of day. The good thing is, for the most part I could give a damn about money and returns for my work, I just like it to be watched. It's so much more valuable to me to have entertained many than to have been paid by one.
Keep in mind now that this exists, the Shogun unit price will drop to around 1500-1300 and you could just get the original for the same price... I'm still not really sure why they made this. I own the Shogun and this sucks for me :(
Sony A7S will drop in price soon, as the Mark II version is coming soon. Keep what you got until new things come out, I had a 6D, freaking great pic/video camera, but I upgraded to an A7S because of 4k and incredible ISO. Be patient and the cameras will drop down to your budget, and remember its not the camera that makes your videos better, its story.
Glad you noticed! Okay, well there is this album by Trent Reznor called Ghosts that he released specifically for filmmakers to use and capture the essence of the sounds he created. For the longest time I had several of the tracks picked out and wanted to use them for something creepy/trippy. Doppelgänger was the perfect fit for the music I had been wanting to use. As far as Stars in Our Darkness, we wanted the sense of nostalgia and peace in the trailer as the film is about reflection on a beautiful relationship. I will be sure to post links on any other trailers or updates as they come, we have a rough cut of it now, so won't be too long.
