Xavier Miles

Director | Writer

I've always loved film, mainly as a spectator. It wasn't until a boisterous conversation in smoke filled pub in Barcelona, circa 2011, that I realized how tired I was of spectating. Three years and countless rewrites later, I stand very near to funding my directorial debut .. I think.

Boards Comment – Ever feel like you're getting a little too ahead of yourself?

Matt, it seems I have a constant refrain of ...
'What the hell am I getting myself into?'

I don't have training as a filmmaker; I'm going at this almost entirely as an autodidact. The trouble with self teaching is that you don't really know how good you are until it's time to interact with the folks who aren't self-taught. It's at once intimidating and exhilarating.

So, I can definitely sympathize with the idea of 'getting ahead' of yourself.
