Boards Comment – Resources for finding actors

I had 30 productions so far, where about 5 required auditions, and one of these five auditions needed 11 actors.

Oh, and all had to be of certain age, and had to agree to the project on the trade-for-reel basis.

I used mandy and there would be 50+ actors turning up for my auditions.:

Boards Comment – List in order of Importance; Resolution, Dynamic Range, Color Science

The DR is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in terms of priority.

There are many more videos that have horribly clipping highlights than there are videos where one can't stomach the color science.

Additionally, shooting in a bright sun light is hard because given our budgets -- I mean the budgets of the majority of the visitors of this site -- we exercise very little control over the exterior detail and the subject detail. Ideally we need 1k+ lights to make a dent which in itself makes the shoot much more expensive.

Thus, I'll take the DR, DR, DR as in very tangible and practical terms it either reduces or eliminates entirely my concerns when shooting outside.

Boards Comment – Field Monitor for Canon 6D

Cassie,

Why obsess over the "real color" if my phone/PC's monitor will look different from yours, from Guy's and from Baldwin's?

Besides, when pros shoot videos they shoot it in a flat style -- low contrast, desaturated -- this is already far-far away from "true color" and represents a bigger deviation from the true color than monitors of the different vendors have between each other.

One buys field monitors for a lot of reasons, but never for the true color.
