The light in those videos! Brrrrr....
I meant it in a supportive way, of course ^_^
Are you guys finding these camera ads lacking?
Whenever a new camera gets announced I want to know what it would feel to work with. Namely I want all of the following covered:
- how long a battery lasts?
- is there a battery grip?
- how much will I spend on batteries to last me 12 hours?
- what does the screen look like in the sunlight?
- lens??? show me recommended lenses, and I happen to love fast primes (mental case here, I know)
- rolling shutter? how bad???
- flat picture profile?
- dynamic range?
- night-shoot, noise at ISO 400?
- what crop factor is their APS-C?
- focus zebra?
- histogram / highlight spot?
- manual gain for audio?
- mount? what if I have EF glass, what adapters will I need?
I mean most of us have camera systems and I submit to you most of us are non-Samsung. So, to switch I need to know what the cost of the entire system would be, or at least how I can switch just a part of the system -- the camera by using adapters, etc.
Amirite?
I shot this with Canon Rebel t2I and an 85mm f1.8 lens this past Friday:

If you like it then I submit to you that the cameras do not matter -- only the lights and the lenses matter.
Good luck!
The article pic is sooo nod obelisk! Whaaammm, "unit lost". Amirite???
Try the sling belts -- these are generics that multiple manufacturers make.
Here is a $13 from Cowboy Studios that I had for a year and that I trust my piece to:

The main advantage over a lot of other offers is that you can screw a tripod's quick release plate into the strap's plate. The very first picture in the second link shows that tripod hole -- they really listened to the videographers' feedbacks! This saves a looot of time for me on the set -- releasing the plate, hanging the camera over shoulder while relocating the slider / tripod.
I'll be surprised if you don't fall in love!
Good luck!
Have you seen David Kong's documentary about working with less?
This is what he shot as part of his trip: http://vimeo.com/46762697
And this is what he shot it with: http://vimeo.com/71180315
Also, a big consideration is being robbed or having your gear stolen. Assume that at the end of the trip you'll lose all your equipment, pack accordingly, and make do.
Good luck!
