Einar, I spend the majority of my time in KG, Bishkek area. I visited Almaty a couple times in the late 90s, then again in the late 00s. It had changed so dramatically in that time! I was not part of the Marco Polo series, I will have to check that out. I was out there for business and academics. I spent a lot of time in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, camping and snowboarding. It is a beautiful part of the world that is often overlooked.
Not sure why the downvotes are happening. If you feel strongly about it, let me know in a comment.
Are there any a5100 owners out there that are experiencing problems?
I have had very little experience with the T3i, but as an owner of a GH2 I can tell you that I love it. I have the high data rate hack installed and I have been very happy with it. A couple things to note from my experience:
1. Note the crop sensor, it does make it tougher to get shallow DOF with any kit glass.
2. I really enjoy that I can use most vintage glass on my GH2. I have a few Canon FD lenses and even picked up an Olympus f1.4 from a garage sale for cheap. I find that these lenses mean that I don't notice the crop sensor as much.
3. The resolution on the GH2 is great, and I would say it is sharper than the T3i, and I have heard that it is a lot more on par with the 5DmkII.
Are you shooting in RAW with the T3i? Remember that the hack does not enable RAW or any Log type shooting styles on the GH2, it just helps with things like macroblocking and compression issues.
Let me know if you have any specific questions for the gh2.
Same as those above. If it is landscapes/aerials or Vimeo Staff pick type of videos I will go full-screen. Otherwise I will just keep it in theatre mode on YouTube on my second screen. It has to be very strong visually for me to go full screen and turn off my other screen.
Very nicely done. The anamorphic looks excellent, and the moment I saw the video I thought it looked like where I have visited in KG. Was it shot in KZ? What a beautiful area of the world. I think that you used the available light quite well. Congrats!
Thanks Guy and J,
I have checked out both links provided. Good call with the mega churches,I will keep looking through those for graphics.
Anyone else have any personal examples of graphics you have made?
