The original strikes as me very odd (as well as being pretentious) because the voiceover is Welsh, but he's reading a book in Spanish (portraying him as an intellectual?) - and there's some Spanish featured on some of the boxes. So it's the story of a Welsh cinematographer living/working in Spain..?
