Watch: This Terrifying Video Shows You Exactly How Not to Shoot While Driving
5 years ago
I don't normally post to stories, but this just P'd me off so bad I had to comment. I have been filming in & out of cars for 25 years, both on and off trailers. I have never EVER seen or had an accident while filming. HOWEVER...I have been on union shoots and that's were the accidents happen, why? I'll explain.
TOO, many people are involved and have their hands in everything. Only one person needs to worry about the camera THE CAMERAMAN.
This video looks like some propaganda the union need to make to count for the money they waste. And this probably cost the $450,000 to produce.
If you use your brain, and are careful, you WON'T have an accident.
I don't normally comment on anything, however reading this article I had to comment. Firstly how some of these people made it into the film industry beats me. From comments of people losing their equipment suppliers, to filming with masks etc. Holy Sh*T. Does nobody use their brains, c'mon I understand how hard it is to make a film and with minimal budget but c'mon. I support everyone in the film industry and the struggles they go thru...but at what point do you not realize your project is just CRAP and why do half of them get into these festivals. Indie now days needs to be re-labeled as just ***** ******* ******. I have worked with some of the best indie film makers over 30 years...the last few they started become so stupid and woke. I walked away and now just do sports...Less BS and knuckle heads to work with.
I will share one story I worked on during Covid. I'm a DP and was anti this whole mask thing, but respected those that were afraid. The producer/director was a young guy and had no clue as to what he was doing. But he took sound advice from a few pros and made some good decisions for the project. This guy was 100% into guerilla film making and some of were too. If we knew it was going to be too dangerous we didn't do it. But we prob broke 150+ laws, it was fun and exciting, way better than working a union gig or something for a studio. In the long run this film came out better than Queintin Tarantino films. This film is the envy of many films that are out there. Now all he has to overcome the boundries made by Hulu and Netflix and the film will be out. I wish I could name it, but the stories behind will be bigger than the film.
Moral of the story, hang in there, stay strong and don't let "New age" filming kill a good industry.
