What the fuck are you on about? Tbh, phones nowadays aren't far off in the DR departement.
That's very odd, considering only the Helium sensor gets those clipped highlights (due to the new color science not having been released yet), and the DXL uses the VistaVision Dragon sensor. We all know the Dragon doesn't have the same low noise floor as the Alev3 sensor so that it was noisy makes perfect sense.
Unfortunately that 10-bit makes a pretty big difference.
The new MacBook pro has a DCI-P3 screen which means it covers about 72% of BT.2020. As far as I know, not even reference grading monitors hit 100% BT.2020. Closest I've heard of is NHK who hit 98% coverage with a hybrid LCD-laser screen.
He shoots on Alexa, ain't nothing more hdr than that. Also, he's not crushing it. He achieves high contrast through lighting...
Why complain about BT.2020 when it doesn't even cover DCI-P3? Even if it "supported" BT.2020, it wouldn't be more than a nice shiny sticker on the chassis. AFAIK, no monitors, professional or consumer, come close to covering 100% BT.2020 so this point is kind of moot atm...
