Article Comment – Promising New Footage from the 4K Samsung NX1 & a Comparison to the GH4 & 5D3

First of all, I want to apologize if i'm making a lot of mistake. English is not my native language, but I will try my best :-)

Even if I totally agree that the image quality from a GH4 is pretty impressive, and this new test NX1 seems pretty promising, I find this all "4K" thing really overrated...

I see a lot of people giving bad reviews or bad comments on Canon cameras, and keep praising the new digital phenomenon. First off all, people have to understand that, if you give a 6D, a 5DmkIII or arri alexa to Rogers Deakins, he will be able to produce beautiful image with each camera. For sure, he will have more flexibility with a Alexa, but the 5d will still produce beautiful image IN THE RIGHT CONDITION.

My point is, if someone doesn't have a camera and he has an unlimited budget , for sure I will tell him to take the best camera available. But for the rest of us, with limited budget, don't forget that the most important thing, is to work our craft, focus on the editing, focus on transmitting a message or an emotion, etc...

Focusing on the technical is important , yes, but only if it helps you to make a message clearer. Like we say in french " la forme doit être au service du fond " ( the form has to be a the service of content).

So for all the guys with "bad" cameras, don't forget to keep creating, and don't start to collect the "best" camera or the "best" lenses...Because it will never stop.
