The metal cuts are on-point pretty-much. In most cases drill holes are not compatible with other brands (say you have a Wooden Camera baseplate and you want to add rods, and want to buy a rod adapter from SmallRig), which is the same for many other brands out there. For light cameras they are a no brainer - just buy them. But be aware of buying their stuff for heavier setups, the metal quality isn't good - both with aluminium they use, and screws/bolts are filmsy. I've bought an 19mm baseplate from them for my zoom setup (12-16 kg). First thing was that the screws included just chipped off one by one. I've used manfrotto and red screws instead. Second the Arri Dovetail fixing thing seems to be the same quality as the screws - which is kinda shit thing to hold all the setup. I'm thinking of replacing the 19mm baseplate from SmallRig to a Tilta one.
How the heck can Teradek buy an RT Motion, if they are all part of VITEC GROUP? It's like BigMac bought Cheeseburger kind of news. Vitec acquired RT Motion, Paralinx, Teradek, Small HD, and lots of others in the past years, and nowadays makes a lot of cross-solutions, like Small-HD x Teradek combo. Now an Teradek x RT Motion kind of product.
