I tend to agree with the comments, using CGI and mocap etc. for final film quality is very expensive and time consuming, but what about Previs and Pitchviz stuff where quality is not as important?
Currently using a company like TTF for pre-vis would be expensive for an indie film but I think in the near future the cost will drop dramatically with the use of VR, game engine realtime filmmaking etc.
Specifically what the section “Virtual Rapid Prototyping(VRP)” is talking about.
At what price point and or time frame would an indie crew consider doing a pre-vis for an entire movie?
If they could make a complete (video game quality) Previs of their movie in 2 weeks/$30k would it be worth while?
