The naysayers overlook the point that the 1DC is also a phenomenal stills camera on par with the 1DX ($6000) and much stronger than a GH4 for example. I think of the 1DC more as a stills camera with a 4K add-on than as a dedicated video camera. If you're work is pure video, get an FS7, C300, whatever else floats your boat. The 1DC is a niche product that fulfills the requirements of a very particular few and in that context the price makes much more sense.
It is an interesting analysis, but I would also point out that with the exception of comedy, virtually every other story structure deals with many of the same issues. I would also point out that far beyond simply the changing of seasons, the Biblical texts themselves carry a strong theme of redemption. Case in point: the current discussion surrounding "Unbroken", here is a man who has in reality experienced a dark life and it consumes him when he returns home, until and finds redemption at an evangelistic event.
As a licensed commercial pilot, some of these things make sense and others don't.
Even in manned aircraft there is a HUGE difference between flying for yourself and flying commercially. Your level of responsibility is much higher when you are hiring your service out.
Also, if you fly at the maximum 400 feet, even the 3lb DJI (which can reach that height) falling from that height it would impact with anywhere from 500-2000lb of force. Quite enough to do damage. And the argument "everyone is using them" actually makes it more likely that an accident could occur, not less.
I personally thing there should be some sort of certification, but to say that it needs to be manned training is ridiculous.
