Tony Scott was a true legend. A real visionary director, movies these days are so bland and lacking any edge or character. Visually he just made things look completely bad ass; Top Gun and Days of Thunder just look unbelievable. Compare that to the super clean and almost clinical cinematography of today. Everything has the same look. I just feel bad for newer generations that didn’t grow up surrounded by 80s and 90s movies and music...

Jerry Bruckheimer has produced some of the most successful movies of all time. Everyone has a lot to learn from him and his success. Movies don’t all need to change the world, it’s ok for them to be fun and over the top. It’s like Michael Bay, it’s cool to rip him and pretend to be superior but I defy anyone to not be able to enjoy Transformers. He’s the man, no doubt about that. Prolifically successful and a visual genius. Any criticism comes from flat out jealousy. We all wish we had his chops.
