I live in Stockholm, Sweden right now. The film community is alright here, not too big but small enough to easily get in touch with people :)

Coming from someone who has worked on a rather big YouTube channel about filmmaking, my best tip is to not focus on making travel videos. There are too many YouTubers doing that. The spot is simply taken.
What I would focus on is telling stories through your personal style, a well defined niche, mixed with valuable content. If you want to drive traffic to your channel, you have to inspire people. Sub for sub will only take you so far, and you don't just want to get the sub but you also want people to watch and enjoy your content. Otherwise any number of subs are useless.
