Great post !
We created a 360 3d animated video for a client. At 4 minutes 30 seconds long and at 4k 60fps it was a hell of allot of rendering! The example here is compressed - allot, but the high res version runs on a PS4 VR headset at the clients sales office in Spain as a sales tool to show how the development will look when it is built. https://vimeo.com/274478198 You can view it here or head over to http://www.strangebox.co.uk to read more on what we did. We learnt so much on the fly with this project. it was all built in Maya and rendered in VRay. Due to the budget we had a deadline so we had to tailor the look accordingly. I would warn anyone going in to create something this big to definitely think hard about your costs and about your rendering costs ! I think 360 is here to stay . The fact that you can pause the video and still look around is great in itself !
