Hey Derek, thank you! I put a lot of thought into the design, and the first major design point I had to contend with was "universal" or "phone-specific". The decision to go with a phone-specific design was driven by 1. The desire to keep the envelope as small as possible 2. Wanting to provide a precisely located lens mount. Universal designs don't support these attributes very well. When you have an almost $200 lens like the Moondog Labs anamorphic adapter, or the soon-to-arrive Zeiss Exolens, you want to know that you're extracting as much as possible from your investment in glass. If the lenses are not concentric with the camera sensor, you've effectively wasted your investment in great optics.
