Does anyone know if it can dual-slot record, specifically 8K raw in the CFExpress and oversampled 4KHQ in the SD slot?
If you're annoyed by the overheating, you don't have to buy it, or don't use the overheating codecs. You're complaining about having choices unavailable in any other tiny form factor, but at the well-publicised cost of the limits of heat dissipation. Should Canon not include the option at all, because overheating annoys some people? Should they not mention that it does 8K? They make plenty of other options if you don't like the R5, but those come with a cost too, usually in $$
There's no free lunch.
ummmm... I would hope there would be ample notification when it drops below a 99% reliability rating, much less a 10% reliability rating
also, on a reformatted card... what would anyone be defragging? And that doesn't even matter on solid state memory!
The eye AF is going to be huge. It won’t make people switch systems but—AI that tracks the forward—or rear, if you prefer—eye of a moving subject, shooting wide open with a medium or long fast lens? It’ll be in lots of kits. From docs to narrative features, whatever. I’ve already got an A9 and I’ve been blown away by how for stills it liberates me from devoting so much concentration into just getting a decent number of frames sharp. Now I concentrate on other things and have a waaaay higher ratio of sharp images. I think it’ll be similarly liberating in video for many situations.
Shotput Pro has been doing this for many years... don't use it anymore though due to their licensing which was supposed to be in perpetuity but they went subscription and now I can't even activate my old copies.
It's got in-body XLRs with phantom power, internal ND, hefty battery options and equally importantly, intermediary codec which is what the vast amount of people are shooting because RAW is usually impractical.
It is most certainly a legitimate pro cinema camera.
