Jason Hellerman, the writer of this article... are you high? I've listened to the entire podcast you linked, neither QT or PTA appear at all. Did you just link the wrong episode? Also, the entire article is FULL of grammatical errors, not to mention a sentence that just ends halfway and doesn't go anywhere. What the hell? Are you just trolling?
This fuckin website makes me more and more disgusted with every article I read lately. It's basically become the 'let's see what the morons of the industry think today' page. Fucking censorship supporters, how stupid do you have to be to not pick up on racist shit in old movies, and realize it's not ok? REALLY fuckin stupid is the answer, which is not the case for the people who are going to be watching this. You think average Joe or trucker Mike are gonna EVER be watching fuckin Gone With The Wind? No, the only people who are affected by this are the cinephilles, who already have the proper context to understand this movie. This ain't about 'let's properly contextualize this' it's about a petty fucking vengeance by the frustrated nazi fucks that are spearheading this PC culture. Can't wait for the first book burning!
You know, for a website that supports movies and filmmaking, I think you should be doing your best to actually get people interested in seeing it, not saying dumb things like: 'duuuh it's 3 hours long i don't wanna sit next to a stranger for that long'. That's fucking retarded, what are you 8? Does every single movie need to be ~2 hours? I for one can't wait to sit in that theater for over 3 hours after not being able to do so for so long, and you should too. There's more on the line with this movie than 'being cooped up next to a stranger'.
I'm afraid you completely missed the point of what Nolan is trying to do with this movie. The idea is to get people back in front of the big screen, to keep cinemas from dying, not watch it at home, cause no matter what anyone says it's not the same kind of experience. Go see it in theaters or wait for months to see it at home!
This article is just...wow. I guess I didn't realize exactly how rabid the marvel fanboys are that they're willing to shit all over the opinion of a freaking MASTER of cinema. He just gave his calm opinion on the matter, yet fanboys like the "writer" of this article seem to barely be able to hold back insults when speaking about him. Scorsese is right - Marvel is making "products", not movies. Phil, you speak of Marvel having powerful characters - you mean the ones that have thousands of pages of history in the form of comic books and animated series, that were already loved by people before even the first Marvel movie hit the theaters? Come on, let's be serious, every single sensible person with a brain knows deep inside that Marvel movies are shlock. Nobody's saying you're wrong for watching them, I watched a bunch of 'em too, but neither can you say Scorsese is wrong for not watching them. But I'm sure this logic has already surpassed your already-outraged fanboy brain. The truth is people like you, who have consumed these Marvel products so ravenously that they are no longer just movies - they're part of your identity - you can't stand it that one of the most famous filmmakers ever is saying he doesn't like what you like, and instead of maybe at least considering his opinion, you go on a rant and say that he's "watching movies from atop a high horse" (I won't even go into how stupid that affirmation is cause it'll take another 2 paragraphs). You poor man. Just to reiterate: SCORSESE IS RIGHT, MARVEL MOVIES ARE NOT REAL MOVIES, DEAL WITH IT!
Why is this guy still writing for this website? All of his articles are utter garbage.
