I have worked as a visualiser in ad agencies in India for 15 years and quit my job to be a photographer. I am an industrial photographer. I love visual communication so my services to my clients are - designing (print & electronic media), photography and video production (corporate films)
Hi, there.
The word 'Dilwale' does not mean 'Brave Heart' as mentioned here. 'Dilwale' is a Urdu word and means a person with big heart full of empathy, love, kindness, loyal, etc. Braveheart in Hindi is Himmatwala and there is a Bollywood movie by that title!
Off the subject: In the short 'Be My Sister' the lady photographer is shown using a medium format TLR but she is shown examining a 35 mm film strip!! May be I did not get the creativity or metaphor... Otherwise the short is shot beautifully.
Just can't wait for the release. These movies are best enjoyed on big screens. I hope the lockdown is over by the time the movie comes to our town.
Thanks a lot Jason Hellerman for this wonderful free e-book.
I read the entire book at one go. I just could not stop reading it. Written very well. Explanations accompanied with examples from the movies did a wonderful job. I could recall and connect easily. Good stuff for the beginners as well as a refresher for the pros.
Thank you NFS for sharing this with us.
Hi NFS,
thanks a lot for this wonderful e-book. We would like similar e-books on other subjects as well in future (if possible).
Thanks again.
I agree with this article. Technology is developing fast. Wealthy filmmakers are using the latest systems which are not 'photon hungry'. This 'fires' their creativity for the narrative.
On the other hand, most viewers are not upgrading their system, neither they understand the technology.
Remember those old movies shot on film? Even a dark forest looked as if it is day? But now we have cameras which can shoot 'clean' in moonlight. Those from Blackmagic Design are within the reach of common people.
To conclude, narrative will always demand and good creative team will try to get as close as possible. It is also the viewers who need to get a little more tech-savvy!
