Interesting test. As an owner of the Minolta meter, it still does great to get me into the ball park with LEDs and their green/magenta matching, but, can't tell me the CRI of anything! Your comment about the magenta value begs the question: when was the last time yours was calibrated? Quality Light & Metric in LA used to calibrate them. I see George is still in business and doing well. No website but a Yelp page. I'm not allowed to post a link here but just use google and you'll find it.
