I highly recommend Charlie's Country for cinematography this year. For me, 2013's big stand-out was the Conjuring. But this year, the simplicity, movement, honesty of Ian Jone's work is a perfect compliment to Rolf De-Heer's latest story, led by the brilliant David Gulpillil. De-Heer is never in a rush, and and I feel the DOP did so well with to shoot as to allow the thoughts of the characters to tell the story much of the time, even when they were doing very little externally.
