I’m still a little surprised. It’s literally the same camera, except it has new color science, a black ND knob, and all the raw updates included. Makes me wonder if Sony will provide an update to the original FS5 with the improved color science to make them indistinguishable.
The only good news I see is maybe there will be renewed interested in the platform and Sony will feel the pressure to include internal 4K 10 bit 4:2:2 someday.
Same body, same electronics, same sensor. Same camera.
You could always shoot 1080p and still get the benefit of the improved dynamic range and oversampling from 4.6k. When you have the ability to buy more drives, you've got 4.6k waiting.
Absolutely loved this film. Although I have a great relationship with my father, I too had to overcome the unnatural feeling of taking the life of a living thing growing up with an outdoorsman. Although slaughtering a hog is more close up than killing a deer, killing and skinning an animal is an experience so foreign to my generation. It's something everyone had to learn not too long ago. It's interesting how many social mores revolve around food. I come across so many people that will eat a hamburger in front of me, yet condemn farming or hunting.
Did I say I love this film? :)
As a director, I'm glad they're bumping up the rates. The race to the bottom mentality on top of inflation is brutal. If you want to earn a living, you should be paid for the work you do.
