Solaris is one of the only films labeled as "science fiction" that clearly fulfills the true meaning of the genre. How the human desire and will, shift through a situation where according to our terms breaches the everyday activity. That when one is dealt with a "science fiction" situation it always takes the back seat to how the character succumbs to their own human condition within that situation or happening.
