La La Land
Have to share a quick thought here.... I love nfs and the podcast (I'm an active listener and have learned so much over the years). I don't usually comment but had to share my disappointment with the lack of care (and maybe thought?) in covering the removal of the terms "slavery" and "master" in tech jargon. The fact that these things were talked about a bit too casually, and even laughed off multiple times, represents a bunch of white privilege behind the mic. Also riding off Michelle's comment (who I greatly look up to as a woman in the industry) about removing "male/female parts" from tech jargon by saying (paraphrasing) "let's get this thing handled and then we'll deal with male/female later". Remember that intersectionality is a thing and there are poc, and women AND WOMEN POC who have had to endure the use of these terms. It's important, especially for people with a platform, to seriously look at all of the little (and not so little) things that have made this industry difficult for many women & poc and to know how to talk about them. I know this was a small bit of an overall great podcast but in light of the recent social awakening, it seemed necessary to be said. I love you all at nfs, plz keep doing your thing and also remember you have an influence on us youngsters in the biz.
