I shoot ML Raw on a Mark iii and love it. I am always blown away by the amount of detail it holds in the shadows and highlights. When I shoot sometimes I think to myself that it is going to be horrible, but when I see it on the computer - it blows my mind. It is a pain to process, but it is worth it.
We are thinking about the FS5 and a Metabones with the Rokinons (24, 35, 50, 85)
What do you mean by true raw? What is the difference between the two?
Thanks for all the help! I have been leaning away from the Xeen lenses. I havent seen a huge difference in the image quality from the Rokinon Lenses but the price difference is huge.
We already have been having issues with the ML on the Mark iii - incredible image quality but its just not reliable enough for a feature. Can´t ever seem to nail the exposure on it...
I think we are going to go the FS5 route and buy the EF Rokinon Lenses and a metabones speed booster. Raw would be great, but for our budget we are going to have to stick w the 10 bit 422, which I think i´m okay with. We could still shoot with the Mark iii as a secondary camera as well.
I use MLV Mystic to convert them to DNGs - then I bring them into Davinci Resolve Lite (free) and use hunters LUT for Mkiii Raw. Export it to Apple pro res 4444 and hook the audio back up in post in Premiere. Its worth the time - the image quality is incredible
