Super interesting! so much short content out there that deserves an audience and remuneration for the talented filmmakers to continue telling there stories!
More and more people are willing to watch big-screen movies on their tablets and laptops. it may not be what the filmmakers had intended but eyeballs are getting to the content!
Maybe it is time to take a look at the numbers and just like any business start the painful but necessary adjustments to their trajectory. No business has ever survived betting against the customer base - Cough... Nokia!
This is an important moment for male lead genre films like F9 to look at gender perspective. Too often the reaction by producers to the male-female on-screen/story balance is to either create a film enforcing negative stereotypes on men (which just entrenches the problem of gender division further). Or dominate the cast and crew with women as a way of 'proving their worth'. I couldn't agree more that the male crew both above and below the line need to have a better gender balance but again by washing one side clear due to a gender bias only informs both sides that there are in fact 'SIDES'!
Tricky subject but I like how vocal Rodriguez is in not only raising awareness but informing change through her platform...long may this continue!
What an incredible size and form factor for large format recording! and although still out of reach for the Vlog crowd this is certain to resonate massively with Netflix and large studios trying to gain the edge on the increasingly level playfield.
Only thing I spotted during the demo was the highlight roll-off on the Tiger footage looked quite harsh compared to many film stocks or Alexa.
Love the trailer!
Really nicely paced and builds nicely to a crescendo especially with the laugh reused twice to add an ominous element.
We did a trailer for our short film recently too and I agree with a lot of the comments and thoughts, the length is definitely up in the air when you are dealing with shorter form content. Our trailer was only 1 minute in length for a 15 minute film.
