That's a long way round to give yourself some grain nostalgia alongside some resolution loss, was it too sharp?....or did they simply have too much money?
There's also that odd and now popular phenomenon at play where you agree to pay someone for their opinion....but then get upset because you're also a paying customer with demands of your expenditure! (I blame the 'service' industry and the subsequent pre-paid, deliver-something-else-later race to the bottom!)
Maybe don't ask random folks for their opinions in competitions but instead seek the opinion of someone you actually respect instead if truly requiring the help of an outside opinion.
This overanalyses the show like a rectal camera check-up but unnecessarily so.
The show sure had its last two season rush-issues and dropped-ball character conclusions due to a lack of books to fill the void (alongside some Hollywood desperation) but the umm 'ha8tr' reaction to elements like the Dany character and narrative also showed that many weren't really watching too closely either past her first and victim-heavy episode.
"looking for someone to blame"
This whole article suggested that the 'exploitation' be compensated for by OTHERS..... and pretty simply via the ol' 'higher-paid' and 'higher-up' assumptions/presumptions as if the pie weren't being equally divided..... but without ANY context of the actual RECIPE for the Pie (which differ with every film) outside of declarations that there SHOULD be slices at the end! (which completely ignores the whole money-laundering like nature and bigger-side of the actual industry!)
Perhaps the pie was always just a 'pie in the sky' delusion by folks taking far too much cocaine (alongside their own ego and self-importance/entitlement) WHILE also luckily having an army of disposable, easily exploitable and naive/delusional dreamers themselves lining up to be willingly exploited in the hope that their whipping will somehow and ultimately then empower them too with all that umm 'experience' (which will probably just help to self-justify their own exploitation of others later unfortunately!)
This is what unfortunately happens when you divide the discussion into a 'them' and 'us' narrative debate instead, which should probably look deeper and wider at all sides instead and with less of the 'unfairness' blame when the causes are all so sadly obvious and occur at every level in an 'ambition' chasing and exploitative (justified) world!
And especially so in industries which sadly and ironically REQUIRE a union, like an admittance-fee.....which is also like an admission that the system is actually broken by default, where bureaucracy and scummy exclusivity/memberships then ultimately and also decide your worth to even work in the first place!
Far too many folks are unfortunately far-more than willing to be exploited themselves (and then sadly willing to exploit others with that subsequent and similar 'winner' justification of self-convenient-obviousness!) while chasing their OWN big and often-delusional-level dreams...... as if their own self-punishment will somehow and one-day be rewarded by the participation-award god, who doesn't even exist past being a grift of his own (and is most-often a union OR lawyer if lucky and actually ever showing himself).
I just helped a team of young folks out on an animated show for absolutely free because I'm a nice guy with some time, a lot of experience and a willingness/eagerness to help the kids!.......but after a couple of hundred hours of non-paid volunteer work no-one could even manage a simple 'thank you' at the end, especially not the umm 'director'....... who also had 10 other (and far younger) folks than me 'helping' to chase his dream...... for nothing but the 'experience' which I don't really need so won't be helping out (or willing to) THIS particular dreamer/exploiter again!
And I only ever wanted or desired a thank you!
Exploitative industries where folks will so gladly and enthusiastically exploit themselves out of 'hope', their own egos, and their own self-convenient but naive best/good-intentions unfortunately just become even MORE exploitative....AND for unfortunately obvious and repetitive (like Groundhog Day!) reasoning too!
There also tilt shift lenses, I used one years back for a TV ad about homeless people seeing their former or future selves reflected!
Industries that NEED a union are industries who have already accepted that their industry is sketchy and needs another level of control on top of government, regulation and the law.
Maybe enforce some simple government regulation and keep the union AND/OR non-union OPTIONS open instead to help prevent or limit any dominance and bullying from either side of the control-equation.
These sound terrible to work on..... but they also keep coming back to work on them! Folks in creative industries and their imaginations (especially if naive) are their own worst enemies and are far too often far too easily led..... while often forgetting that they're working on 'products'....and often crass ones that aren't even very good!
