Well, I live in the UK. Cinema used £3.50 to £4.50 a ticket and the cinema, especially our local Cineworld were packed... It was a great time for friends and family. The truth about all that is that some people in the industry got greedy. Because now, well before Cineworld did close, it was between £10.50 and £15.50 (Imax) to watch a film and I can tell that for the last few year, it has been rather empty! I personally can afford it, but I have not been to the cinema for nearly 2 years now because it's empty and boring. Somebody tells me how people could afford or justify to go watch a movie at that price??? Now it does not seem to bother directors and actors getting 10s of millions for quite often a rather mediocre performance. And what about the studio?? What are those crazy budget to make a film... I think people got carried away and greedy and THAT is what is killing the cinema nothing else. Cinema nearly make a living because of all the greed up the chain. Sorry it feels like I'm going on a rant, but I have seen so many business I my life time going under because of some greedy people, it just kills me. So called Stars and celebrities have killed our cinemas. No one or nothing else.
