Hey Guy -- I left this comment on your Nebula 4000 post, but since it's older, didn't know if you saw it...but posting this here.
I'm saving to get a gimbal system, and this has been on my radar. One thing I'm concerned about, is later on down the road, mounting a monitor, or potentially pulling focus -- how would this be done on the Nebula? I like that it's hand held, and cheaper than a bigger gimbal, but I don't know if I would be better off saving for a bigger gimbal system.
I'm also a novice, so I don't intend to get one right away -- really just working on shooting, and gaining an eye for shots -- but for the future, I was wondering what your thoughts were on the use of the Nebula versus a large gimbal.
Thanks!

For what it's worth, as a hobbyist (and a burgeoning one at that -- I've just used camcorders prior to this), I went GH3 with a nicer lens. I really don't have any use for 4K, and since I'll be learning the Panasonic system as is (and at my level of knowledge), I don't think I'll be able to appreciate all the ins and outs of the GH4, and its advantages over the GH3. I was working with the same budget as you ~$1400. So with a used lens, GH3 and some filters I came in at just about that. Long term, I'd like to get a lot of experience with the GH3, and then say, when the GH5 comes out, upgrade to that in a few years.
It sounds like you have a lot more experience with video, so the GH4 might benefit you more, but I think the GH3 will get the job done.
Curious, and intrigued by this camera's IS. I am going to be making an entry purchase, and was set on the Panasonic GH3. But this camera has me rethinking. I'm looking over specs, and are their big things I'd be giving up with the GH3 for this camera? Opinions?
I appreciate your reply! I will be looking at both Amazon and BH, and most likely leaning towards BH because of their expertise and the reported customer service!
Thanks, that's really helpful -- I like the $700 price point a lot, and its portability. That's why I'm very much considering it...it probably will be what I end up going with.
