I love movies.
Cut to the Coen brothers splicing film in their bathroom.
sorry for the grammar.
They've got a great thing going, hopefully the noise level doesn't completely take over at 7pm while you pump the shutter to 360. The obviously are user friendly but after owning both a BMCC and a BMPCC I would choose my A7s any day of the week over any Blackmagic ( right now ). You obviously get what you pay for and just looking at the affordable price gives me a hint BM is at it again where they are making definitely a really great tool but the sensor just won't compete with Sony, Canon etc.
Just my two cents, don't take it to heart.. Tarantino can make a movie with used underwear instead of 4k i get it..
After owning multiple Rokinon lenses and re selling them I don't think I will ever purchase them again. They have a great appearance and cine like quality build and feel, but the actual glass is mediocre. It's soft in so many spots and sharp in others and it floods an uncomfortable amount of light in wide open. I just felt cheated, but in the end I wasnt... that's why it's cheaper.
I just Purchased my A7s last week, the best part about the camera is just how much fun it is. I find myself always using it, and when you just want to shoot 1080P you can run and gun with it and the outcome is superior to any raw black magic footage I've ever shot (aka my previous camera). Hopefully I can afford a Shogun soon, The 4k will be a blast to mess with! Honestly I've used the c300 & c500 in the professional world quite often, those camera are 100% work horses. Unfortunatly there is no reason to knock either camera, they are both awesome, my strongest advice is if you can wait till NAB so you don't get pissed like I'm going too when something even more intriguing comes to light.
Best of luck!
