Article Comment – Say Hello to the New, Even More Filmmaker-Focused GH5S

yeah...no stabilization? the IBIS was 98% of the reason why I finally "upgraded" from the GH4. Interested choice. Especially since the logic mentioned in this article of "Panasonic assumes professionals will already be using gimbals and dollies etc" should also include "Panasonic assumes professionals will already be using proper lighting and set design etc" so therefore, improved lowlight is not needed. hah. But, I'm just a simple wedding/interview video guy, I don't do real video work, so I'm probably missing something.

Article Comment – Watch: The Deeply Passionate Love Affair Between Filmmakers and Camera Bags

This is all so true for me. I have many bags lying around that I thought were my "be all end all" bags.

However, I currently have the (of course) Peak Design Everyday bag, and again, I feel like this is the one bag to rule them all.

I respect people who still are using their old college backpack like it's no big deal. Meanwhile, I'm dropping $$$ on the fanciest bags ever and the end result is...I'm no better than them. hah.

Article Comment – The World's Fastest 15mm Lens Has Arrived

would one be able to use an adapter and plop this on a Canon body?

Or, in my case, to a focal reducer (canon mount) made for my GH4?

Article Comment – Hang in There, Roger: Why Hasn't One of the Best DPs in the World Won an Oscar Yet?

I agree. I suppose there is merit, on some level, to not differentiating between heavy green screen vr. little to no green screen, but still: It seems pretty clear that the winners over Roger have been international films or heavy VFX films, which should at least raise the question "is our awards process adequate?"

Article Comment – 15 Random Things You Should Always Keep in Your Camera Bag

It's a little overkill, but I like to keep a camera and some lenses in my bag, just in case the client wants me to film anything.
