1 advise only to use cross dissolve if you really need it for a well chosen effect. There is nothing more ugly than using across dissolves on everything without thinking it true or to mask bad cuts. Most of the times you can use jump cuts or other smart choices instead of using a disolve.

Boards Comment – Editing in a dark or bright room? Which do you prefer?

If it is not for critical colour grading I want sunlight, it is a place where you have to spend much of your time and sunlight keeps your biological clock ticking and keeps you happy :). Try to avoid direct sunlight at your screen. For coulour grading you then can close te blinds.
