What's wrong with 10-bit 4:2:2? Have you ever shot an Alexa Mini or Mini LF at Prores 422. Still does better than almost all prosumer cameras shooting "raw"
They know they can match digital to film now right? From recreating the colors, contrast, grain, halation, gate weave, etc... Do cinematographers and "auteurs" just want to ignore that? Because it's looks really ignorant at this point and kind of lazy.
I guess that number is for higher end productions, because indie projects I've lost a good amount of cinematography jobs because they were looking for a woman. Specifically a white woman. Asians, Indians, black women, middle easterners, latinos....nahhhhh.
it is going to be content, and already is morphing into that. That's what the general public wants despite what we want
It's just another data collecting device. The look isn't based on the camera used. IDK how many times this has to be repeated. Does the Alexa do better in Highlights? Most likely. But are colors, skintones, curve, and tonality based on brand? No.
No IBIS, no C-log 2, no full HDMI, pass.
