She ain't the only latino actor facing that issue. The percentage of latinos working in the film industry is like 3%. That's the lowest demographic next to Native Americans or pretty much any brown demographic. Her being a light skinned attractive female is a double edged sword, she faces sexism for sure, but she probably also benefited from her looks. You go to Mexico or any other Latin country and you will find the same racism here is found over there towards the darker skinned demographic unfortunately. Meanwhile in the states, every latino actor or artist is "Mexican".
The skintones from the print scan are very similar to the print shown in the New Beverly. Definitely different tone curve compared to the blurays. But I will say the print was more similar in color to the bluray, just more punchy in contrast. Not as flat as the vhs, bluray, and 4k bluray.
Always thought about using this camera or the Hasselblad H6D-100c which has an even larger sensor. The issue is Dynamic Range still cannot compete to an Alexa Sensor at a video level. Of course, there are other benefits to shooting on a traditional cinema body like the Alexa and Venice. Also I think on the GFX the F1.4 translates to F1.1. Nice experiment. Glad you were able to shoot it .
I'll sum it up, be a white man or woman lol... don't want to dismiss her hard work completely, I'm sure she put in a great deal of work especially on those long brutal union shows, but if there is anything that is shockingly true in this industry is that if you are a white man or woman you already have a leg up and you are going to be treated better by colleagues on set. You are also most likely going to get the job compared to being a member of a minority group. It's not just this country either, if you go to china and you are a white DP, you will be respected more and sought out. It's insane but real. Being a 2nd AC on big shows is already a no easy feat, most ACs I know get in because: 1. a family member helped, 2. they're white, or 3. a gross one but I have seen it, quid pro quo.
definitely better than anything marvel has put out. Though it isn't the dark knight trilogy (ducks)
lol 13% latino, were they counting telemundo and univision? because that is definitely not the case with major studio productions... like at all.... it's actually 3%. https://annenberg.usc.edu/news/research-and-impact/latinos-lose-out-when...
