Thanks Joseph. At the moment, Sigma only offers its ART 24-70mm for Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts. E-mount to be released in the future, but only for its Art primes. No mention of E-mount zooms yet.
Other direct E-mount options:
Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens ~$2,200
Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM ~$2,200
Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS ~$900
E-mount adaptable lenses:
Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR $2,400
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED ~$1,800
Sure there are others... if you know any, please add to the thread.
"What does “full frame” mean to y’all at NoFilmSchol?"
I can only speak of my own opinion, and to me, it's 36 x 24mm.
"How is this relevant news for your NoFilmSchool audience?"
It's news about equipment in the filmmaking industry. From what I understand, NoFilmSchool covers the filmmaking industry. If it was a "Fashion Faceoff" article about "Who wore it best?" I'd probably question its relevance.
If you have topics, ideas, suggestions you'd like to see covered so you can learn to be a better filmmaker, please let me know.
Hope that helps.
+1 Thanks for the comments. Noticed it too – was added during the editing process. Asked them to remove it. Updated.
That's the question: Are "predicable" updates still a thing? The max internal NTSC recordings for the a9, a7r III, a7s II and a7 III are the same. (please correct me if I'm wrong)
a9: internal NTSC XAVC S 4K UHD 8-bit 4:2:0 at 100Mb/s 30p, 24pa7r III: internal NTSC XAVC S 4K UHD 8-bit 4:2:0 at 100Mb/s 30p, 24pa7s II: internal NTSC XAVC S 4K UHD 8-bit 4:2:0 at 100Mb/s 30p, 24p
a7 III: internal NTSC XAVC S 4K UHD 8-bit 4:2:0 at 100Mb/s 30p, 24p
If the a7s III only adds internal 4K 8-bit 4:2:0 at 100mb/s 60fs, bumps HD with 240fps and includes HDR options, in its "video focused" alpha model, would that be enough to entice Sony users to upgrade?
Rumors had it coming out late 2017 and then early 2018, but the a7R III and a7 III were released instead. Maybe when Sony saw the Panasonic GH5, they're adopting something different? Probably doesn't matter really - just fun to discuss.
I agree with everything you guys are saying, but it was something Kenji Tanaka of Sony said in the live stream that made me think they will push spec, price beyond product models that are "positioned" in different tiers. Especially in the alpha series. #timewilltell
Maybe we'll see the a7S III announced at NAB/IBC.
(Do want to note I don't own Sony gear, nor are they paying me for my opinion)
a7s III guess: 4:2:2 10-bit internal. DCI, UHD at >150 Mbps, various frame rates. Oversampling. Improved sensor. 4:4:4 12-bit/10-bit external recording... a9 focus system, 14 stops dynamic range, SLog. Free camera body cap :)
