Different camera, different usage. I don't see Canon advertising this as a cinema camera.
I believe the 1DX2 is build for travels, harsh condition, sports and photojournalism usage. You are right, if I want best video quality for price, I'll choose something like the URSA Mini, Sony FS7 or Red Raven but if I'm a travelling photographer that wants killer AF, a camera that resists almost everything and also good video quality, I'll probably go with the 1DX2.
It won't kill it. C100 has XLRs, build-in NDs, C-Log, Waveforms.
C100 MK1 cost 2500USD, MK2 cost 5000USD.
4K on 1DX is 1.4x, 4K on 1DC was 1.3x. Not a big change and most cinematographer I know like the S35 better for film making.
Shoot 4K Motion Jpeg 4:2:2 and downsample instead of shooting ALL-I HD 4:2:0..
I believe that C-LOG is not there yet to protect the 1DC for now, but will come in a future FW. And for now there's quite a bunch of picture profiles around.
Clean HDMI only in HD, not in 4K. You can't record 10-bit, it's an 8-bit camera.
Yes exactly. You said it "Dof is in fact not coming for the sensor but the lens"
"But keep in mind that the 1DX Mark II is primarily built with photographers in mind which means that it will have limited video features."
