Very cool story but it's missing an important part: how did a high schooler manage to pay for a DP with an Alexa, Panavision lenses, and a Fisher dolly? Thats a multi thousand/day camera package, never mind the rate of the crew.
If the DP donated his gear and time, that would be really interesting to know. If her family is wealthy, that's cool too, no judgement. But leaving this part out while touting the "benefits" of skipping college comes off as disingenuous, and isn't really good advice for young people.
I actually thought this was pretty cool. The political messaging aside, I thought the video was creative, had an effective storyline, and was nicely edited together. I personally enjoy these types of creative expressions, where the viewer is transported to the future to "look back" at their present day circumstances for a different perspective.
Using your own b-roll was a nice touch as it kept it cohesive.
The only thing I didn't like was the music. It felt too upbeat for some of the scenes in the beginning and middle, so perhaps that could be something to work on in future projects.
Thanks for sharing.
2nd on the stomach ache medicine! Sounds simple but it can save you a lot of misery...
Agreed! Even here in the U.S., there are very few places you can fly legally without an FAA license. You are also obligated to personally call all local airports before each flight, or else you can face large fines.
It is a cumbersome product to own for a professional shooter. Even for a hobbyist, it is becoming an increasingly larger liability to own a drone.
I am surprised how little discussion there is on professional sites and blogs about this issue. It seems many people are simply ignoring the laws, and are getting lucky. This is probably fine for a hobbyist, but for pro shooters, you can get yourself and your business into major trouble.
Have you ever worked in software development? Didn't think so.
Agreed. Every producer I've worked for in the past year has requested either the FS7 or the C300. Granted that is for the TV/Doc world, but I have a hard time believing commercial and narrative producers are requesting Black Magic over Arri and Red...
