Interruption advertising is going away. The ads don't pay for themselves and they annoy people. Currently the best way to get attention is to design something interesting enough that fans will write blog posts about it.
Tease honest stories from your friends. Read maker articles about the new tech tools that are available. Avoid trying to emulate your heroes. It's easier to win by changing the game.
Advertising doesn't work. Eventually companies will wise up and stop paying for it. Inventing cool products that people like talking about is the only viable strategy.
