Thanks Guy! I had such a tight deadline and Premiere was acting up on my laptop so I didn't have much time to explore EQ but as an Audio guy/musician as well-I will def look into this!
Guy is this the tiffen kit you are referring to? (I have a tamron 17-50 2.8 nikon mount lens so I think it takes 72mm size?) Would I also be able to use this kit for photography?

Thanks for the info Guy! I use Premeire Pro CC so would I just add the "Noise" and put it at like 6% or until the banding disappears? I've read that you can't record 1080p 24 fps externally on the d5200 and you're instead limited to 30p or a certain frame rate is that so? I'm really thinking the GH4 or Lumix g7 will be my next body as at this point I just invested in a Tamron 17-50 2.8 (Nikon Mount) that I love.
Just a comment: I tried the FLAAT 10/11 profiles and while they provided great dynamic range for some color grading, they did encounter the horizontal banding and research from EOSHD seems to say that a modified standard profile is the best way to go to minimize banding. I realize this is no A7S or log camera but its fun to use some color grading from time to time. Would the banding be minimized by using a 64mb hack?
Would agree with Guy except I would just look for a used d5300 body. I own one and it doesn't have the sensor noise that the d5200 did which is especially noticeable on a flat profile as I found it almost unusuable. So yes D5300 body around 3-400 then download the flat profile of your choice or use the standard profile - quite a good image in the right light.
