You doubt as much as you want. But that is the truth. Blown up BMPCC 1080p footage will look better. It's all about the dynamic range and the highlight rolloff and all that cinematic look. It does not have to be super sharp, on the contrary, when it's super sharp it will not look "filmic". It will not miss "tons of detail". Trust me. Have you even seen upscaled 1080p footage? And yes 4:2:0 is bad, it's not even broadcast standard and you get that "videoish" feel with it, just look att all the stuff shot with the GH4 vs. BMCC. I hope I haven't hurt your feelings as you are a good guy, but I think you are wrong on this one Guy.
blackmagic killed the market once again :)
The 12-35 is a nightmare for manual focusing. I would suggest a manual lens such as the voigtländer 17:5mm f0.95
The Rx10 has it at f2.8. But then again it is 8-bit, 4:2:0 colorspace. I think you will get a better picture out of a Blackmagic Pocket Camera in 1080p and then just upscale it to 4k, still will look better IMHO (In my honest opinion). Lofar!
I think the Canon XC10 is gonna be a big hit when it hits the streets. It's gonna rip it apart. It's the new 7D, the new revolution in cinema.
Why is that so? Both cameras are in a similiar price range. Both shoot 4k.
