That looks exactly like a BitMain Antminer rebadged. It does the SHA256D algorithm. You have to add a power supply to that, any where from 400 to 1000 watts depending on which version of Antminer that is, there is about a dozen of them. The little tin box on top contains a processor so you don't have to connect this to a pc (mac not need apply) to run it. I have a number of Antminers already, then have been around for 4-5 years from their first version.
So much bullshit in this so-called documentary by the world's biggest climate hypocrite. Did he rent another 3000 foot yacht for this one? I live where they filmed the Revenant. He was going crazy in the media here yelling about the warm chinook winds melting the snow as sign of an environmental apocalypse when they have been doing that for thousands of years. That says a lot about his lack of knowledge in this area. Only fools get their information from self proclaimed Hollywood prophets.
So slow and expensive for life with an inferior OS, why put yourself through so much pain? Join the rest of us that have switched.
That is laughable the Mac Book Pro (any model for that matter) is based on the same hardware that any bottom of the line Laptop has and does not any more throughput. Notice I said bottom of the line, unfortunately the GPU power is complete lacking in all Apple products so really the throughput is just sad, and the price is through the roof. The sooner you dump it for something far better, and far cheaper with a far superior OS the more productive you will be.
And why would anyone edit on a tiny little MacBook screen - far too limiting.
That is among the silliest things I have ever heard. Intel has been producing tons of new chips at pretty constant clip forever. It's not Intel's fault if virtually every product Apple produces is nothing more than a shiny bauble. No one should be depending on on-die graphics for serious work, they are ALL far too weak, and always will be. AMD GPU's are actually significantly better at compute tasks than nVidia as nVidia have purposedly pushed that function into professional Quadro chips. CUDA is nVidia only however Premiere also supports Opencl on AMD. The new NVidia series used tile based rendering as it's latest party trick. This particular round of GPU releases seems positioned to be short lived as the real revolution hits next year. Unfortunately with Apple real innovation is at a such snail's pace they can't keep up with 6 month or less PC release cycle. The stupidity of the public is the only thing keeping them in the business, but the facts are simple all the power is on the PC side now, and it's lead increases every few months. I use a MSI laptop that has the power of a stack of Macbooks, and it cost less than ONE OF THEM. Apple is being pushed out of the creative space for good, and the creative space will be better off for it. You want see a real cool laptop that will get all the kids on the set talking - get yourself a Razer Blade.
